중도입국 청소년의 다문화 대안학교 교육 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구

A Qualitative Case Study on the Educational Experience of Migrant Youth at Multicultural Alternative Schools

본 연구는 중도입국 청소년의 다문화 대안학교에서의 교육 경험과 그 경험이 어떠한 의미를 가지는지 살펴보고, 중도입국 청소년을 위한 다각적인 교육 정책 지원방안들을 모색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 질적 사례연구방법을 활용하여 중도입국 청소년 5명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 중도입국 청소년들의 교육 경험과 관련해서는 첫째 한국어 및 학업 수행에 대한 교육적 어려움, 둘째 교육 및 교육비 지원의 부족함, 셋째 공교육 진입에 대한 부정적 인식, 넷째 교육을 통한 학력 취득이 도출되었다. 한편, 중도입국 청소년들은 다문화 대안학교에서의 교육 경험을 통해 교육을 통한 성장과 발전 그리고 미래 대비를 위한 진로 설계의 토대 마련이라는 의미를 가졌다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 다문화 대안학교의 중도입국 청소년들을 위한 다각적인 교육 정책 지원방안에 대해 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the educational experience of migrant youth at a multicultural alternative school and the meaning of that experience, and to explore various educational policy support measures for migrant youth. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with five migrnat youth using a qualitative case study method. As a result of the study, regarding the educational experience of migrant youth, first, educational difficulties in Korean language and academic performance, second, lack of support for education and educational expenses, third, negative perception of entering public education, and fourth, acquisition of academic ability through education. Meanwhile, through their educational experience at multicultural alternative schools, migrant youth laid the foundation for growth and development through education and career planning to prepare for the future. Based on these results, this study proposed a multifaceted educational policy support plan for immigrated youth in multicultural alternative schools.
