An Approach of Story-Engineering Attitude for the Management on Film Making Risk: Focusing on Film Makers and Film Promotion Agency

The research about movies have tended to focus on a movie itself likeaesthetics and artistic values until now. Movie production system has nodifference to this situation in Korea and other country. but this kind ofsituation shows many limits in the field of film study because of giganticgrowth of film industry. As film industry grows, film study and film making system need morecomplicate and predictable methods and tools for the successful filmmaking and film analysis. For this needs, film production system, filmmarketing and film industry are considered integrally for the moreaccurate film analysis and pre-production. Story-engineering attitude on film-storytelling is about to launch its ownmethodology. The methodology of story-engineering goes many differentway and has many kind of object. On this paper, Story-engineeringattitude of film study is aim at multi-aspect about film making for theraise of possibility of prediction because the risk of film making isgetting grow and that has to avoid that risk. This research examine two different field of film making. the first isfilm making production and the other is film promotion agency Like aKOFIC(Korean Film Council). For the first filed, Story-engineeringattitude would be helpful to directors, producers and writers from the examination on story-engineering model of movies. And another side ofthis research, film promotion agency would get help from thestory-engineering attitude as the usage of its engineering element. Theimportant thing on this filed is that film promotion agency has interest innot only economic promotion but also film aesthetics, so two way ofpromotion method would be considered to promotion Korea film industry. And To be more developed method, Story-engineering attitude shouldhave more interest in ‘Big Data Theory’ and ‘Film Genre’. those wouldbe more helpful for this story-engineering attitude and I hope that theword ‘attitude’ should be changed as reliable ‘film study methodology’ atearly date.
