이 논문은 앞으로 통일 관련 논의가 재한 외국인들에게 활발하게 진행되기를바라는 마음에서, 아니 그들에게 통일교육이 필요하다는 측면에서 통일교육을위한 통일 주제 읽기 교재 개발에 대해 다루는 글이다. 이를 위하여 먼저 통일교육 현황과 외국인을 위한 한국어 교육에서의 통일에 대하여 살펴보고 한국어 기관 교재에서 ‘통일’ 주제 단원을 확인하여 분석적으로 검토하였다. 그런 다음, 앞으로 ‘통일’ 주제 읽기 교육의 필요성과 통일 주제 교재 개발에 대한 몇 가지 제언을 붙였다. 현재 한국어 교육에서 ‘통일’은 역사 항목에 들어 있는데, 아직 교육내용으로 풍부하게 활용되고 있지 않다. 그래서 필자는 이 글에서 분단 70년이넘은 시기에 국내외적으로 중요한 주제인 ‘통일’이 문화 영역이 아닌 네 가지 언어기능 중 읽기 교육에서 다루어질 것, ‘통일’ 주제가 추상적이고 정치적인 이슈가아니라 국민과 거주민의 감정과 경험을 담은 실제 읽기 자료로 구성되어야 한다는 것을 주장하고 있다. 이는 앞으로 통일 주제 한국어 읽기 교재 개발을 위한 기초적인 작업에 해당한다.
In the hope that unification-related discussions will be actively pursued by foreigners living in Korea in the future, this thesis intends to preach about the development of reading text textbooks on unification topics for unification education in the sense that they need unification education. To this end, first, the status of unification education and unification in Korean language education as a foreign language were reviewed, and the subject section of ‘unification’ was identified in the textbooks of Korean language institutions and analyzed. Then, some suggestions on the necessity of learning to read the subject of ‘unification’ and the development of textbooks on the subject of unification were attached. In Korean education, ‘unification’ is included in the history and has not yet been used abundantly as an educational content. However, the author believes that ‘unification’, an important topic at home and abroad in the 70’s after division, will be dealt with in reading education a part of the four language functional area rather than in the cultural domain. And the author insisted that the topic of ‘unification’ should consist of authentic reading materials that contain the emotions and experiences of the people and residents, not abstract and political issues. This corresponds to the basic field for the development of Korean reading textbook on the subject of unification.
