This study intends to confirm two things. One is whether audience watching movies tend to blink at the same time. The other is whether the blink onset times of audience watching movies tend to coincide with the edit points of the movies. The subjects were 5 students, and two movies were selected for viewing. One is Art Museum by the Zoo (1998) and the other is The Little Mermaid (1989). The result of the experiment shows that audience watching movies do tend to blink at the same time. But there was a significant difference between the two movies. Blink synchrony was better for The Little Mermaid. This could be because it is the easier-to-understand movie, or because it is the more engaging movie. As for the synchrony with edit points, the experiment shows no significant results. But a short time after the edit points, there was a significantly high probability of blinks. The amount of delay was 400-600ms for The Little Mermaid and this is in accordance with previous studies. But the delay for Art Museum by the Zoo was quite different and that requires further study.
