The Study of Lee, Guyeong's Film Life

Lee, Guyeong who is the senior of Chosun Film world was very important film artist in the history of Chosun film. He was scenario writer, film critic, filmmaker, producer etc. in various part of chosun film world from the first of chosun film history. He arrived at Chosun on May 1923 from Japan. He study film in Japan. After arriving at Chosun he worked in journalism and he tried to have relationship various people of theater and film part. Especially he met with Hyun cheol that is very good chance to establish <the acting school of Chosun>. They had a dream to revolution of the world of theater and film of Chosun. After all Lee, Guyeong began to work as publicity manager in Danseongsa movie house. In here he made a first film <Sangokru> by Bak, seungpill who is a president of Daneongsa. Untill 1935 he made 6 film works and writed 4 senarios. And also he writed the first sound film in Chosun. That is <Choonhyangjeon> in 1935. His representive national film is <Arirang after story>. In film he expressed imperial japanese as contagious disease infection Japanese custom and thought to Chosun people. But he leaved from Chosun film world from 1935 to 1945. He giveed up his working during ocupation Chosun by Japanese for 10years. After liberation from imperial Japan Lee, Guyeong began to work many film works. Untill 1954 he made one works and writed 10 scenario for 6 fiction films and four documentary films for liberation film. His works, <An, Junggeun History>(1946), <Yugwansun>(1948), <Seongbulsa>(1952) etc. expressed the ideology of liberation from imperial Japan and the will, proud of Korean. Lee, Guyeong is a only nationalist film director to pursuit the total development of Chosun Film.
