1920s' Joseon, discourse on Foreign Film increased in great number. It centers on American film. Diverse information about American fim was loaded on newspapers everyday. It seems that everyone is enthusiastic about American Fim. But, there was attack and denial to American film, too. Some focused its not being artistic, some focused its America-centerd ideology, and some focused its bourgois ideology. Nevertheless, the attack was not so strong. Why the film discours was formed around America film? It has several reasons: American film's domination of world; lack of Joseon film; rejection to Japanese film and altering to American Film, etc. But most of all, the important reason was prevalent longing to USA and its modern culture.
