This paper is to discuss motivation and contradiction on people’s collaboration represented in those Choson collaboration films after later 1930’s including Military Train(1938), Volunteer(1941), Straits of Choson (1943), Spring of the Korean Peninsula(1943). Choson people’s collaboration, which is a governing method by the Japanese Empire Militarism, is represented as realistic issues, such as a way out from modern torpor, a way to escape from torment in reality, sacrifice for legitimacy. However, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Japanese Empire and Japan and Korea are One Body are basically contradictory ideology to Choson people during the colonial period, and because of this, unexplainable defect and rupture is remained in film characters and narratives. This study presents that collaboration in Choson films is an issue in reality and daily lives, and that contradiction in narratives appears due to instability of being Choson People and their status.
