This study aims to research the effects on degrees of understanding movies by comparing survey results from before and after students participate in the course of “Understanding of Movies”. The study was intended for Hanseo university students(male and female), who attended the course. To research how much ‘movie education’ can affect ‘understanding of movies’, the surveys were conducted at the first and the last classes of the course. The course “Understanding of Movies” was composed of 13 lectures and 2 evaluation classes, and the total of 7 movies were shown for the course. The course were divided into 6 parts including ‘Understanding of Movie Art’ ‘Understanding of Movie Production’ ‘Understanding of Movie Genres’ ‘Understanding of Scenarios’ ‘Understanding of Directors’ and ‘Understanding of Movie Techniques’ and carried out to students in 6 different faculties. The surveys were evaluated by the method of ‘the repeated-ANOVA’. The results of the surveys among different faculty students were shown similarly but after the students completed the course, their degrees of understanding movies were dramatically improved. In particular, their understanding of scenarios has improved a lot. Through these results, we learn that ‘movie educations’ can dramatically improve the degrees of understanding movies.
