Movies are made for people and theatres are the place for people to watch them. Movie theatres and facilities have changed, or evolved, to meet the tastes of the mass. Multi-flex has initially appeared from the reason not with regards to the movie but with regards to the movie industry. New multiplexes are being built in places where people congregate to shop: shopping centers, arcades, and malls. In addition, many older, larger theaters(especially in city core areas) are being converted into multi-screens. In Korea, especially Multi-plex has started by combining the elements such as the abolition of the limitation on the amount of positive prints and Hollywood studios' participation in Korean movie market in 1990's. The movies are an industry and a business. So the introduction and evolution of Multi-flex are a kind of marketing strategy to increase the box-office income. But Movies are also an important social institution, going far beyond providing mere entertainment. the content of film can both reflect and shape society and moviegoing is essentially a group activity. Theaters are not only a shop to sell movies, but a kind of cultural places for mass. Multiplexes have developed in the scale and facilities. Now they have changed the audiences' watching behavior. Moviegoing is an cultural condition in Korea now.
