This study discovers original comic forms from Buster Keaton's comedy films. The history of comedy film began with the birth of film. For Example, one can find comic elements from Edison's <Sneeze>(1894) and Lumiere Brothers' <L'Arroseur Arrose>(1995). That is, comic elements already took an important place to provide audiences with pleasure from the very first moment. Comedy films developed in 1910 rapidly and they contained comic elements from stage shows such as vaudeville, variety show, medicine show, and so on. Moreover, comedy films tended to choose stage actors/actresses as main characters. Like stage comedy shows, most early American comedy films were slapstick action comedy with 'chase'. 'suspense', 'sadistic situations', and so on. Buster keaton was not only one of those actors but also a remarkable pioneer of comedy genre films. His started acting career on medicine shows as a child and gained fame by vaudeville in New York. Finally, he played for the film, <The Butcher Boy>(1917) and soon became a movie star. Until he deceased in 1966, he was 'the king of American comedy' whose efforts contributed to establishment of American comedy genre. The characteristics of his acting and films can be summarized the following key words, 'cosmic & acrobatic', 'enlargement & multiplication', 'spinning movement & demolition', 'fetishism', and 'accidental happening & mistaken situation', 'confusion from background'.
