Research on the application of 3D digital technology in the digital document construction of historical buildings

Background: Historical architecture is an indispensable part of the cultural heritage of humanity and has cultural, historical, artistic, and scientific value. Objectives: The study aims to improve the preservation and management of historical buildings by leveraging advanced 3D digital technologies, such as three-dimensional laser scanning, slope photography measurement, and virtual reality, to create highly accurate digital archives. Methods: Based on three-dimensional laser scanning technology, slope photography measurement technology, and virtual reality technology, the use of visual information and spatial data of the historical building, the digitization of archiving, the realization of the preservation and management of the history of the building achieved the protection and use of the Historical building. Results: Digital archiving of historical buildings can improve their protection and contribute to coordinating urban construction development and protection management. Conclusions: Digital archiving plays a vital role in preserving and utilizing humanity's cultural heritage by creating databases for historic buildings, using three-dimensional digital technologies to enhance efficiency, and visualizing cloud data for more comprehensive storage of information on relics, ultimately reducing workload and improving conservation efforts for landmark structures.
