다문화 감수성을 활용한 유아교사의 젠더 감수성 교육 탐색

Exploring Gender Sensitivity Education of Early Childhood Teachers Using Multicultural Sensitivity

본 연구는 글로벌 시대에 즈음하여 유아교육의 방향이 어떻게 되어야 하는지를 다문화 감수성을 활용한 유아교사의 젠더 감수성에 대하여 알아보았다. 이를 위해 다문화 감수성을 활용한 유아교사들의 젠더 감수성에 대한 국내·외 학술지 60여 편과 교육과정 문서, 교육부 웹페이지, 매체 등을 분석대상으로 삼았고 다문화 감수성을 활용한 유아교사들의 역할과 자세, 교육철학 등을 기준으로 분석하였다. 분석결과는 유아교사의 젠더 감수성 기회 갖기와 유아교사의 젠더 감수성 교실 조성하기로 나눠볼 수 있다. 먼저, 유아교사의 젠더 감수성 기회 갖기는 유아들의 다양한 젠더 인정하기, 여러 유아와의 사회적 상호작용하기, 공감하고 정서적으로 지원하기, 유아발달에 적합하도록 제안하고 질문하기, 유아 개별 특성을 고려하기이다. 둘째, 유아교사의 젠더 감수성 교실 조성하기는 일상생활 속에서 젠더 실천하기, 유아 개개인을 차별 없이 존중하기이다. 이를 위하여 유아교육에 적합한 다문화 감수성을 활용한 유아교사를 위한 젠더 감수성 교육이 이루어질 필요가 있음을 제안하는 바이다.

This study investigated the gender sensitivity of early childhood teachers using multicultural sensitivity to determine what direction early childhood education should be in the global era. For this purpose, about 60 domestic and foreign academic journals, curriculum documents, Ministry of Education web pages, and media on the gender sensitivity of early childhood teachers using multicultural sensitivity were analyzed, and the roles, attitudes, and education of early childhood teachers using multicultural sensitivity were analyzed. It was analyzed based on philosophy, etc. The results of the analysis can be divided into providing opportunities for early childhood teachers to be gender sensitive and creating gender sensitive classrooms for early childhood teachers. First, opportunities for early childhood teachers to be gender sensitive include acknowledging children’s diverse genders, interacting socially with many children, empathizing and providing emotional support, making suggestions and asking questions appropriate for children’s development, and considering children’s individual characteristics. Second, creating a gender-sensitive classroom for early childhood teachers involves practicing gender in daily life and respecting each child without discrimination. To this end, we propose that gender sensitivity education for early childhood teachers utilizing multicultural sensitivity appropriate for early childhood education needs to be provided.
