The Impact of the Russia-Ukraine War on Ukrainian Education and Future Challenges

2022년 러시아의 전면적 침략이 시작되면서, 우크라이나의 교육 시스템은 엄청난 피해를 받아왔다. 1991년 소련으로부터 독립한 이후 교육 분야에 있어서의 현대화와 유럽통합을 목표로 우크라이나가 추구해온 일련의 교육 개혁은 멈추게 되었고, 현재는 피해복구와 교육 정상화를 위해 전력을 다하고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구는 이번 전쟁에서 러시아가 왜 우크라이나의 교육과 교육기관을 공격대상으로 하고 있는지에 대해 설명하고, 전쟁 전 우크라이나의 교육 개혁 상황과 문제점을 살펴 볼 것이다. 본 연구는 또한 2022년부터 시작된 전쟁에서 우크라이나 교육이 얼마나 피해를 입었고, 전쟁 중에도 어떻게 교육이 진행되고 있는지 살펴볼 것이다. 마지막으로 본 연구는 이번 전쟁을 통해 우크라이나 교육이 극복해야할 문제점과 미래의 지향점에 대해 논의할 것이다.

As Russia's full-scale invasion begins in 2022, Ukraine’s education system is suffering enormous damage. Since gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, a series of educational reforms pursued by Ukraine with the goal of modernization andalusite European integration in the field of education has come to a halt, and it is currently doing its best to repair the damage and normalize education. As a background to the study, this study explains why this war is targeting Ukraine's education and educational institutions and examines the situation and problems of Ukraine’s education reform before the war. This study also examines how much damage Ukrainian education has suffered in the war that began in 2022 and how education is progressing even during the war. Lastly, this study discusses the problems that Ukrainian education must overcome through this war and its future direction.
