Z세대 여대생의 출산 인식 및 태도 탐색

Exploring Childbirth Awareness and Attitudes of Generation Z Female College Students

본 연구는 한국 여대생의 출산 인식 및 태도를 Z세대 입장에서 해석하고 이해하여, 이들에게 출산의 가치를 교육하기 위한 방안을 모색하고자 한다. Z세대 여대생 14명을 대상으로 출산 인식 및 태도에 관한 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과 12개의 주제 모음과 5개의 최종범주가 도출되었다. 5개의 최종범주는 출산에 관한 양가성, 애 낳으면 손해, 계획과 합의가 선행되어야 하는 일, 여성이 겪는 불평등, 아이 낳고 키우기 쉽지 않은 사회이다. 본 연구에서 가장 주목할 점은 한국 Z세대 여대생은 양육의 책임감으로 인해 출산에 대해 복잡하고 모순된 감정을 느끼고 있으나 출산을 ‘행복을 얻는 일’로 인식하고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 출산의 가치에 관한 긍정적 인식제고를 위한 교육과 출산으로 인해 아이와 엄마 그 누구의 삶도 위태롭지 않은 사회적 제도 마련이 한국 사회의 출산율을 올릴 수 있는 단초가 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

This study aims to interpret and understand the perceptions and attitudes of Korean female college students from the perspective of Generation Z and seek ways to educate them on the value of childbirth. As a result of conducting in-depth interviews with 14 Generation Z female college students regarding childbirth awareness and attitudes, 12 theme collections, 5 final categories were derived. The five final categories are ambivalence about childbirth, having a child is a loss, something that requires planning and agreement first, inequality experienced by women and a society where it is not easy to give birth and raise a child What is most noteworthy in this study is that Korean Generation Z female college students feel complex and contradictory feelings about childbirth due to the responsibility of raising children, but they perceive childbirth as ‘gaining greater happiness.’ These results suggest that education to raise positive awareness of the value of childbirth and the establishment of a social system that does not jeopardize the lives of children and mothers due to childbirth can be the starting point for increasing the birth rate in Korean society.
