Since the concept of food security was first introduced to the international community in 1974, the importance of food security has been increasing day by day. In particular, since food security was incorporated as an axis of human security in 1994, its importance has been increasingly emphasized in the global environment. In addition, the world currently recognizes food security as a global problem. This is because multifaceted crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and the Russia-Ukraine war have become serious since 2020. In this paper, the food security status and policies of the three Maghreb countries (Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia), which are considered one of the regions most vulnerable to food insecurity, are analyzed. These three countries are facing a food crisis due to worsening food productivity due to climate change and decreased wheat import due to the war in Ukraine. In addition, ways for the Korean government to contribute to establishing food security in this region will be explored. The Yoon Suk Yeol government, which took office in 2022, is promoting strategic and efficient ODA in line with Korea's increased international status. Through this article, it is aim to present implications for food security ODA policies appropriate for the Maghreb region.
