Among the fields of linguistics, cognitive linguistics is one of the young fields of linguistics that is rapidly developing and being studied by attracting the attention of scientists. Today’s researchers have determined that metaphor, which is the main subject of cognitive linguistics, is used in all fields of science, not only to decorate the meaning of words in literature and poetry, as defined by some researchers. Metaphors continue to attract the interest of researchers as a unique study that shows the characteristics of philosophy, history, culture, and national thinking. George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, famous American cognitive linguists, believe that metaphors arise from human cognition, so metaphors should be studied in detail from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. Cognitive linguistics studies the problem of language thinking and how people receive and process information through language and express it in language at the border of logic and semantics of language, psychology, and theory of knowledge. In addition, the study of discourse, which is a supporting concept for defining the nature of creation, expression and interpretation of knowledge, which is a manifestation of the cognition and intelligence of any nation, is a study that encompasses not only linguistics, but also many fields of knowledge.
