중국은 많은 인구와 풍부한 관광자원을 보유하고 있어 관광산업의 발전이 기대되고 있다. 전통적인 관광산업에서 벗어나, 관광산업의 스마트화를 위해 중국 정부는 적극적인 지원을 하고 있어 빠르게 스마트관광 인프라가 구축되고 있고, 높은 기술력을 바탕으로 가상현실(VR), 증강현실(AR), 혼합현실(MR) 등을 활용하여 시공간을 초월하는 다양한 몰입형 관광상품을 개발하는 등 소프트웨어도 상당히 발전하고 있다. 또한, 사회주의 선전을 목적으로 하는 홍색관광에도 스마트관광을 활용하고 있는 것이 특징이다.

Moving away from the traditional tourism industry, the Chinese government is actively supporting the smartization of the tourism industry, so smart tourism infrastructure is being built rapidly, and based on high technology, virtual reality(VR), augmented reality(AR), mixed reality(MR), etc. Software is also developing significantly, with the development of various immersive tourism products that transcend time and space. In addition, it is characteristic that smart tourism is also used in red tourism for the purpose of socialist propaganda.
