경영경제대학 학부생의 한국형 통계패키지 알바트로스 활용방안 개발

Development of Utilization Strategies for the Korean Statistical Package Albatross for Business and Economics Undergraduate Students

본 연구는 경영통계학 교과목에서 이론적 배경이 되는 통계학 기법들의 실무 연계를 통한 실제 데이터 분석 능력배양을 위해 한국형 통계패키지 알바트로스(albatross)의 활용방안을 제시하였다. 경영경제대학 신입·재학생 대다수가 SPSS 및 MS Excel과 같은 복잡한 소프트웨어에 익숙하지 않기 때문에, 보다 사용자 친화적이고 직관적 인터페이스로 구성된 알바트로스 패키지를 활용하여 학습부진학생의 통계적 역량 강화를 지원하고자 하였다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 알바트로스를 활용하여 경영통계학 교과목의 이론 교육 내용의 실습 방안을 제시하였으며, 유사 프로그램으로서 MS Excel과 Geogebra에 대한 각 프로그램별 장·단점을 비교·분석하였다. 경영경제대학 재학생들이 필요로 하는 분석내용 및 패키지 사용성에 대해 개선점을 도출하여 향후 알바트로스 고도화를 지원하도록 하였다. 연구 결과 현 알바트로스 패키지가 제공하고 있는 서비스 중에서는 경영경제대학에서 교육하고 있는 확률과 분포관련 컨텐츠를 보완함으로써 향후 상경계열 재학·졸업생의 활용도를 높일 수 있을 것으로 나타났다. 또한 실제 교육에 참여한 학생들은 알바트로스 패키지가 직관적이고, 무료 패키지이면서, 경영경제 분야에 특화되어있다는 점을 장점으로 응답하였고, 반대로 영문 인터페이스, 필수적으로 데이터를 불러와야하는 점, 학습 컨텐츠의 부족 등을 단점으로 응답하였다. 대부분의 학생들이 실무 교육에 대해서 긍정적으로 평가하였으며, 향후에도 알바트로스를 비롯한 통계 프로그램의 학습이 교육 및 취업에 도움이 될 것으로 생각하였다. 따라서 향후 지속적인 개선을 통해 사용자를 유입시키고 교육 과정의 지원을 바탕으로 경영경제대학 재학생들의 통계적 실무 역량을 강화하고 실제 데이터에서 추출 가능한 시사점을 스스로 도출하도록 지원할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The study suggests utilizing the Korean statistical package Albatross, which combines managerial statistics theory with practical applications, to support the enhancement of statistical competence for underperforming students in the field of business and economics. The user-friendly and intuitive interface of Albatross is expected to be beneficial, especially for incoming and current students from non-mathematical backgrounds who may not be familiar with complex software like SPSS and MS Excel. In this study, Albatross was used to present a practical plan for the theoretical education content of the management statistics course. Furthermore, the strengths and weaknesses were compared between Albatross, MS Excel and Geogebra as similar programs. As a result of the study, among the services currently provided by the Albatross package, it was found that by supplementing the content related to probability and distribution taught at the College of Business and Economics, it would be possible to increase the utilization of students and graduates of commerce and business fields in the future. In addition, students who participated in the actual training responded that the Albatross package was intuitive, free, and specialized in the field of business economy as an advantage, and on the contrary, the English interface, the need to import data indispensably, and the lack of learning contents, etc. responded with a downside. It is expected that it will attract users through continuous improvement in the future, strengthen the students' statistical practical skills based on the support of the educational process, and support them to draw implications that can be extracted from actual data.
