This study aimed to investigate the impact of sequential dual-tasking on the cognitive and physical functions in patients who have experienced a stroke for more than three months. The study conducted sequential dual-tasking on these patients to examine the effects of sequential dual-tasking on their cognitive and physical functions. This study was conducted as a case study on the cognitive-physical dual-tasking in stroke patients from September 11 to November 10, 2023. The intervention program consisted of a total of 12 sessions, conducted twice a week for six weeks, excluding a one-week pre-post evaluation period. The intervention program had a total duration of 40 minutes, with 20 minutes allocated for cognitive tasks and 20 minutes for physical tasks. The provision of the intervention program was tailored to each participant's cognitive and physical levels on a weekly basis. For the cognitive tasks, the CoSAS program was used to train the attention, memory, and judgment. The physical tasks included exercises targeting flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Pre-recorded videos were used, and the research team made adjustments to the posture and grading based on the videos. The application of sequential dual-tasking showed positive effects on dynamic balance and activities of daily living in stroke patients. However, there were differences in the impact on cognitive functions depending on the individual. Therefore, the results of this study can be used as evidence for the impact of sequential dual-tasking programs on cognitive and physical abilities in stroke patients and can serve as a basis for the implementation of sequential dual-tasking programs.
