4차 산업혁명 시대를 반영하는 2015 개정 영어 교육과정에 대한 교사와 학습자의 인식

English teachers and learners’ perception of 2015 revised English curriculum based on the 4th industrial revolution

This study aims at investigating whether the goal of the revised education system based on the 4th Industrial Revolution has been appropriately delivered, understood, and achieved by teachers and students through textbook analysis. A survey was undertaken to identify whether different perceptions exist between the teachers and students with regard to the goal of developing competencies in the revised English textbooks. According to the results, both teachers and students agreed that the aims of the revised English curriculum were fairly well established in the textbooks; however, there was a big gap between the two groups in the understanding of the revised curriculum reflected in the textbooks: the different aspects of the previous and current textbooks, the most reinforced part in the current textbooks, and the change of teaching methods. It is acknowledged that it is necessary to improve teachers’ and learners’ interest in and awareness of the revised curriculum reflecting the spirit of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
