Lines have been utilized in various forms and meanings in the field of art for a long time. The aesthetic value and flexibility of lines inspire a wide range of artistic activities, from traditional arts to modern architecture and furniture design. Particularly, Korean calligraphy showcases beautiful characters and artistic expressions through lines, boasting cultural significance. However, currently, calligraphy lacks diversity in the realm of modern design compared to other traditional arts. Therefore, this study aims to reevaluate the value and potential of Korean calligraphy and propose directions for its utilization in the design field. By integrating the beauty and cultural value of traditional Korean calligraphy into modern furniture design for practical use, we seek to preserve the beauty of tradition and reinterpret it through the language of modern design. Through this process, we aim to explore creative design directions that are suitable for contemporary society while preserving cultural heritage. We aspire to serve as a bridge between the past and present by providing users with new visual experiences and connecting past and present.
