메타버스 기반의 의사소통적 한국어 말하기 과제 개발 연구

A Study on the Development of Communicative Tasks in Korean Speaking in the Metaverse

최근 기술과 매체를 언어 교육에 활용하고자 하는 시도의 일환으로 메타버스에 대한 논의가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 한국어교육에서는 실시간 쌍방향 소통이 가능하고 교사가 언어적, 비언어적 자원을 자유롭게 맵에 탑재할 수 있다는 장점으로 인해 가상세계와 거울세계의 결합형 플랫폼이 유용하게 활용되고 있다. 그러나 메타버스에서의 한국어 수업이 효율적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 메타버스 플랫폼의 특성을 고려한 교육적 과제를 설계하고 이를 언어 교수법 이론에 근거하여 수업을 구성하는 것이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국어 지원이 가능한 젭(ZEP)을 기반으로 플랫폼의 기술적 특성을 분석하고 한국어 학습자의 의사소통적 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 수업 설계를 제안하였다. 이를 위해 젭의 특성을 극대화한 의사소통적 과제 설정에 초점을 두어 PPP 모형과 과제중심교수법에 근거한 수업을 구성하였다. 먼저 문법 항목을 교수하기 위해 젭의 환경에 맞게 교재를 개작할 수 있는 방안을 제안하고 PPP 모형에 기반한 메타버스 한국어 수업을 설계하였다. 다음으로 말하기 연습에 초점을 둔 과제중심 한국어 수업에서 의사소통적 과제를 효과적으로 수행할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 이러한 시도는 에듀테크를 효율적이고 체계적으로 한국어 수업에 적용할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고 메타버스 기반의 한국어 수업에 대한 기초연구로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

Recently, as part of an attempt to use technology and media for language education, discussions on the metaverse have been actively taking place. In Korean language education, the combined platform of the virtual world and the mirror world is usefully used because of the advantage of real-time interactive communication and that teachers can freely upload verbal and non-verbal resources on the map. However, for Korean language classes in the metaverse to be conducted efficiently, it is necessary to design an educational task in consideration of the characteristics of the metaverse platform and to organize the class based on the language teaching method theory. Therefore, this study analyzed the technical characteristics of the platform based on ZEP, which can support Korean, and proposed a class design that can improve the communication skills of Korean learners. To this end, classes based on the PPP model and TBLT were organized, focusing on setting up a communicative task that maximizes the characteristics of the ZEP. First, in order to teach grammar items, a plan to modify textbooks according to the environment of the ZEP was proposed, and a metaverse Korean class based on the PPP model was designed. Next, a plan to effectively perform communicative tasks in task-based Korean language classes focusing on speaking practice was proposed. These attempts are expected to lay the foundation for efficiently and systematically applying edutech to Korean language classes and be used as a basic study for metaverse-based Korean language classes.
