Trend Analysis and Implications of the Southern Coastal Region Tourism Development Plan: Focusing on marine tourism in the south coast sunbelt of Jeonnam region

The purpose of this study is to examine the performance of the marine tourism sector among the South Coast Sunbelt Plan and determine the impact of the Sunbelt Plan on the marine tourism industry in Jeollanam-do. The sunbelt project in the Jeonnam region was a synthesis of existing projects rather than new ones, and as a result, the performance did not meet the background or goals for which the sunbelt project was promoted. Therefore, two things are important for the Sunbelt project to achieve its purpose of balanced regional development and East-West harmony. First, the route and belt project that connects marine tourism resources in the Yeongnam and Honam regions by land and sea must be strengthened. Second, we need to build a base city that will lead marine tourism in the sunbelt. In addition, three improvements are required to efficiently promote and revitalize the sunbelt project. First, new projects that reflect future marine tourism trends must be developed, and second, it is necessary to expand the attraction of private-led marine tourism projects. In addition, work to increase the utilization of existing invested facilities is also required.
