간호대학생의 요양병원 실습경험에 대한 내용분석

A Contents Analysis of Nursing Students’ Experiences of Practice in a Long-term Care Hospital

목적 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생의 요양병원 실습경험을 탐구하여 그들의 입장과 관점에서 주요 경험을 기술하고 이해하는 것이다. 방법 연구 참여자는 2023년 3월부터 5월 사이에 5일간 요양병원 십습을 한 4학년 학생 중 연구참여에 동의한 97명이다. 실습종료후 작성하여 제출한 성찰일지 101장을 내용분석(contents analysis) 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 결과 간호대학생의 요양병원 실습경험은 ‘실습 전 생각’, ‘실습 과정에서 좋았던 점’, ‘실습 과정에서 어려웠던 점’, ‘실습 과정에서 아쉬웠던 점’, ‘실습을 통해 알게된 점’ 다섯 가지 범주에 대해 21개의 주제가 도출되었다. 결론 이상의 연구결과는 간호대학생의 요양병원 실습경험에 대한 이해를 제공하였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 간호교육현장에서는 노인간호학 실습의 효율적 운영과 함께 간호대학생에게 적용되어야 할 노인간호학 교육과정 표준화를 위한 노력이 이루어져야 한다.

Objectives This study is intended to explore nursing students’ experiences of practice in a long-term care hospital by analyzing the self reflective journals written by nursing students after practice. The intent is to describe and understand students’ perspectives on their major practice experiences. Methods A content analysis method was employed to analyze the reflective journals written by 97 fourth-year nursing students who completed five days in a long-term care hospital practicum between March and May 2023. Results Based on nursing students’ experiences of practice in long-term care hospital, 21 themes were placed into five categories: “Thoughts before practice,” “What I liked during practice,” “Difficulties during practice,” “What could have been better during practice,” and “What I learned through practice.” Conclusions This study’s results offered an insight into nursing students’ experiences of practice in a long-term care hospital. The findings underscore the necessity of efforts to standardize the gerontological nursing curriculum for nursing students along with the efficient operation of gerontological nursing practice.
