This paper examines the value-added chain activities of medical imaging industry and Regional Innovation System Model. Research and development, production management, and marketing and sales were used as proxy for primary activities. Human resource management, technology development, out sourcing support were used as proxy for the support activities. Value-added chain was used as proxy for the performance of regional innovation system. The concept of regional innovation system for balanced national development is widely in discourse and models to stimulate value-added chain activities through upgrading medical imaging firms and business for enhanced competitiveness. The ultimate purpose is to enhance medical imaging business competitiveness and to active balanced national development. In particular, this report examines the impact of medical industry on regional economic growth in the context of value-added chain activities theory using regional innovation system model.
