A Study on the Factors of Success and Method for Development of ‘Building a Ideal City’

The purpose of this paper is to research the factors of success and method for development of ‘Building a ideal city’. Overseas cases were used to find out the factors of success of ‘Building a ideal city’. Based on the success factors, it presents plans for development of “building a ideal city” as follows. First, Future oriented 'ESSD' plan must be set up. Second, Tthere must be a community orientated course of action. Third, Financial arrangement policy is necessary to promote efficiency. Fourth, Establishment of a cooperative network consisting of residents, specialists, and government administration is necessary. Fifth, A system that allows residents to actively participate and lead in city decisions is needed.
