말산업의 가치사슬 분석을 기반으로 한 지역경제 활성화에 대한 연구

A study on the revitalization of regional economies based on the analysis of value chain of horse industry

국내 말산업은 초기화 단계를 거쳐 점차 성장단계로 접어들고 있다. 그러나 선진국의 기업들에 비해 충분한 지원과 관심이 부족한 상태이다. 최근 정부는 말산업을 농가의 새로운 소득원, 건강식품의 리더, 농촌경제 활성화의 중요한 주체, 일자리 창출의 새로운 분야, 전통적 관광 산업의 대안, 그리고 선진 레저, 스포츠, 문화, 치유 산업으로 인식하고 있다. 특히 정부는 6차산업의 관점으로 말산업에 대한 접근을 시도하고 있다. 그러나 장기적 정책들을 뒷받침할 수 있는 구체적 분석 및 전략 프레임워크는 부재한 상태이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 말산업의 육성을 위한 가치사슬 분석 모형을 제시하였다. 이를 기반으로 선진국과 한국 말산업의 핵심 부가가치 창출 활동들을 비교하였고, 향후 지역경제 활성화를 위한 중요한 정책적인 제안들을 제시하였다.

Korean horse industry is entering a next stage of growth through the early industrialization. However, there were not sufficient support and interest compared to the companies of advanced nations. Recently, Korean government recognized the horse industry as one of new sources of incomes, a leader of health food, principal agent of vitalizations of rural economy, a new field of job creation, an alternative of traditional tourist industry, and advanced leisure, sport, culture & healing industry. Especially, the government trying to approach to that with the view of the six industry. However, there is not a detailed analysis and strategic framework to support long-term policies. In this study, therefore, we have proposed a value chain analysis model for the activation of Korean horse industry. We compared core value-adding activities of the horse industries of advanced countries and South Korea, and presented critical policy proposals for revitalization of regional economics based on the model.
