고학력 여성 1인가구로 살아가기

Living as a Highly Educated Single Women Households : Focusing on Life Experience and Needs

여성 1인가구는 현대 사회에서 중요한 사회적 현상으로 부상하고 있다. 본 연구는 고학력여성 1인가구의 생활 경험과 그들의 다양한 욕구를 탐색하기 위해 진행하였다. 연구방법은질적연구이며 고학력 여성 1인가구 6명에 대해 포토보이스를 활용한 집단면접을 수행하여 경험의 맥락을 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 13개의 의미 단위를 발견하고 이를 ‘나 혼자 산다’, ‘여자혼자라서 감당할 일’, ‘혼자 사는 여자’, ‘솔로 탈출’ 4개의 하위범주로 구성하였으며, 이를 ‘혼자이지만 함께 살기’라는 주제로 정리하였다. 이 연구에서는 여성 1인가구 입장에서의 그들의삶을 탐색하면서, 여성 1인가구의 경제적, 사회적, 정서적, 문화적 욕구를 파악하였다. 이를통해 여성 1인가구라는 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 정책 마련이 필요함을 확인하였고 주거 대책과사회관계망 구축, 편견 해소, 건강 지원대책 등 정책적, 실천적 제안을 하였다.

The phenomenon of single women households has emerged as a significant societal trend in contemporary society. This study was conducted to explore the life experiences and diverse needs of highly educated single female households. Employing a qualitative methodology, group interviews using photovoice were conducted with six single women households. The study identified 13 units of meaning, categorized into four subthemes: ‘Living alone’, ‘Something to deal with as a woman alone’, ‘Women living alone’, and ‘Escape from Living Alone’. These were organized under the overarching theme of “Living Alone or together.” The study delved into the economic, social, emotional, and cultural needs of women in single-person households. The findings underscored the necessity of tailored policies that reflect the characteristics of single women households. Practical and policy-oriented recommendations were made in areas such as housing strategies, social network development, bias reduction, and health support, recognizing the need for proactive measures to address the unique challenges faced by women in single-person households.
