창의적인 수업을 통한 한국 대학생들의 사고와 표현의 향상에 관한 연구

A Study on the Improvement for Thinking and Expression of Korean University Students through Creative Classes

본 연구는 2년 동안 4학기 수업 중 4개 수업을 선택하여 한국 대학생 125명에게 창의적 사고기법인 발산적 및 수렴적인 영어 학습 활동 수업들을 통해 학습자에게 사고와 표현을 할 수 있는 동기부여 수업을 진행하였다. 개강 초 수업을 시작하는 첫 시간 (수강 전) vs. 종강 수업 마치는 시간 (수강 후)에 15개의 설문 문항을 비교 분석하였다. 조별활동 및 과제를 통한 영어 학습 활동은 수렴적 (convergent)인 활동과 발산적 (divergent) 방법 모두를 사용하도록 유도하였다. 발산적 영어수업 및 학습은 창의적인 사고행위를 촉진할 수 있도록 격려됐고, 학습자 자기 생각과 의견을 영어로 과감하게 표현하는 능력을 함양하도록 지도하였다. 그리고 수렴적 영어 수업 및 학습은 발산적인 영어 수업 및 학습 활동을 통해 다양하게 생성된 아이디어 중에서 순위를 정하고, 유용한 것과 유용하지 않은 것을 선택하고, 같은 범주끼리 목록화하는 등의 여러 방법을 제시하고 시도하도록 하였다. 본 연구 2017년 영어교육연구 49호에 발표된 “한국 대학들의 발산적 영어 학습 활동에 관한 연구”11) 에 이어진 연구로써 발산적 영어 학습 활동이 창의적인 사고와 표현에 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 증명한 결과에 기초한다. 뿐만 아니라, 발산적 영어 수업 및 학습 활동에 연이어 수렴적인 활동을 활성화했다. 본 연구 결과는 15개 모든 설문 문항들은 수강 전/후별로 학습자들의 창의적인 사고와 표현이 향상되었다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 학습자들의 사고와 표현을 적극적으로 격려하기 위해서는 보다 효율적이고 계획적인 발산적 및 수렴적 영어 수업 및 학습을 병행 적용 및 도입이 시급하다고 할 수 있다.

This study is a class that motivates learners to think and express themselves through divergent and convergent English learning activities. For the study 15 questions were compared and analyzed both at the beginning of class and at the end. English learning activities through group activities and assignments were introduced to use both convergent and divergent methods. Divergent English lessons and learning were encouraged to promote creative thinking behavior, and were instructed to cultivate the ability to boldly express the learners' own thoughts and opinions in English. In addition, convergent English instruction and learning offers several methods, such as ranking ideas generated through divergent English instruction and learning activities, selecting useful and non-useful ones, and cataloging the same categories. This study is based on the results of proving that divergent English learning activities play an important role in creative thinking and expression as a study following “A Study on the Divergent English Learning Activities of Korean Universities” published in the 2017 English Education Research No. 49. In addition, divergent English lessons and learning activities were followed by converging activities. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that the creative thinking and expression of learners improved before and after the course of all 15 questionnaires. Therefore, in order to actively encourage learners' thinking and expression, it can be said that the more effective approach is to apply and introduce more efficient and planned divergent and convergent English lessons and learning in parallel.
