The primary aim of this paper is to explore EFL learners’ different learning styles and to find efficient ways of learning strategies in foreign language learning. Knowing individual learning styles is important for both teachers and learners, since teachers can provide appropriate instructions and learners can be challenged effectively. Although most EFL teachers are aware that students have individually different abilities, desires, and speeds of learning skills, in reality, lessons today still do not address individual needs. Individualized teaching is especially important in learning a foreign language because it enables to students to become better learners. Therefore, this study will investigate theoretical background of learning styles and strategies and will survey to exam Korean EFL learners’ learning styles to find effective learning strategies. To achieve this goal, ninety-seven Korean EFL college students participated in the experiment, and they were asked questions about their English learning experiences, learning styles, and strategies. The results indicated that Korean EFL students got their motivation from within themselves and are aware what type of learning styles and strategies they have. Based on findings, implications for effective ways of learning strategies for Korean EFL learners are discussed.
