Literature is meaningful because it deals with everything in life. There are many works of English literature. Among them, Of Mice and Men and Macbeth are said to be representative works of human abyss. For this study, these two works were discussed in a literary aspect connecting with English education. Of Mice and Men and Macbeth have common theme although the time and space of these two works are different. These two works deal with human desire and ruin. In Of Mice and Men two poor workers have an earnest desire to run a farm on their own but they don't accomplish that desire and this novel ends with a tragedy. The theme of Macbeth can be said to be an ambition of Macbeth to be a King. The demand for English education is increasing day by day. Literary education no longer stays in such a position that divides East and West into dichotomy. The English education is connected with studying English in an extended line with an Eastern language without stopping at the Western language. According to Goethe, the aim of studying a foreign language is only a means to command the beauty of a mother language. English Education through Literary works can be developed with comparison of Eastern and Western philosophy.
