The purpose of this study is to investigate whether or not there are significant differences in EFL junior college students' use of listening comprehension strategies between the highly improved group and the less improved group. In this study, a questionnaire on listening comprehension strategies and two sets of TOEIC were administered and 43 junior college students participated in it. The main findings are as follows: 1. The students in the highly improved group used strategies significantly more than those in the less improved group. Among 6 categories, cognitive strategies were most frequently used by the highly improved group. 2. Among 42 strategies, 8 strategies were significantly used by the highly improved group. The strategy of relaxing and concentrating was most frequently used by them. On the other hand, the strategy of guessing and using linguistic clues was most frequently used by the less improved group. However, both groups avoided the social strategies.
