Analysis of the Role of Ecological Migration in the Sustainable Development of Economy and Society in Xinjiang, China

This study endeavors to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the impact of ecological migration on the sustainable development of both the economy and society in the Xinjiang region of China. Given the exacerbation of ecological environment issues attributable to global climate change and anthropogenic activities, ecological migration has emerged as a prevalent strategy in Xinjiang. the paper begins by delineating the relevant theories and historical context of ecological migration. Subsequently, it examines the motivations behind, the processes involved in, and the outcomes resulting from ecological migration in Xinjiang, all within the context of the region's specific circumstances. Employing field research and data analysis, this research assesses the multifaceted impacts of ecological migration on Xinjiang's economic structure, social stability, cultural heritage, and ecological restoration. the findings suggest that ecological migration has contributed to the sustainable development of Xinjiang's economy and society to a certain degree; however, challenges remain, including those related to the resettlement of migrants, employment, and social security. the paper concludes with targeted policy recommendations, aiming to serve as a valuable resource for the advancement of ecological migration efforts in Xinjiang and throughout China.
