영유아를 둔 부모의 자녀 구강건강에 대한 중요도 인식과 실행수준

Recognition of importance and performance level of oral health among parents with young children

목적: 본 연구는 영유아기 자녀를 둔 부모를 대상으로 자녀 구강건강의 중요도 인식과 실행 수준을 살펴봄으로써 영유아 구강건강교육에 시사점을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 방법: 2023년 7월10일~7월28일 동안 C지역 영유아 부모 320명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 총 293부의 설문지를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 수집자료는 IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0을 사용하여 빈도분석, IPA분석을 하였다. 결과: 첫째, 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모의 자녀 구강건강관리의 중요도 인식이 가장 높은 문항은 ‘자녀가 치아가 아프다고 하면 빨리 치과치료 받는다’로 나타났다. 자녀 구강관리의 실행수준이 가장 높은 문항은 ‘칫솔 구매 시 자녀의 치아사이즈에 맞는 어린이용 칫솔을 구매한다’로 나타났다. 둘째, 영유아 자녀를 둔 부모의 자녀구강건강교육의 중요도 인식이 가장 높은 문항은 ‘자녀가 칫솔질할 때 치아, 혀, 잇몸까지 모두 닦을 수 있도록 지도한다’로 나타났다. 자녀구강건강교육의 실행수준이 가장 높은 문항은 ‘치아 건강에 유익한 음식을 먹도록 교육한다’로 나타났다. 결론: 영유아 구강건강에 대한 부모의 실행수준 제고가 필요하며 올바른 양치, 구강검진, 구강용품 사용. 영양교육연계구강건강 · 안전부모교육, 유아교사 재교육이 요청된다.

Purpose: This study was conducted to suggest implications for oral health education for young children by examining the recognition of the importance of young children's oral health and the level of implementation among parents of recognition. Method: A survey was conducted on 320 parents of young children in Region C from July 10 to July 28, 2023. A total of 293 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. The collected data were conducted to frequency analysis, IPA analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 Results: First, the question with the highest recognition of the importance of oral health care for children among parents of young children was ‘If a child says their teeth hurt, they receive dental treatment quickly. The item with the highest level of implementation was ‘When purchasing a toothbrush, purchase a children’s toothbrush that matches the size of child’s teeth.’ Second, the question with the highest recognition of the importance of oral health education for children among parents of young children was ‘Instructing children to brush their teeth, tongue, and gums when brushing their teeth.’ The question with the highest level of implementation was ‘Educate child to eat foods that are beneficial to dental health.’ Conclusions: There is a need to improve parents' level of practice regarding oral health of young children, including proper brushing of teeth, oral check-ups, and use of oral products. Nutrition education, oral health and safety parent education, and early childhood teacher retraining are requested.
