The purpose of this study is to examine the programs of Korean language education as a short-term foreign language in DPRK. To this end, the current status of Kim Il-sung University, Kim Hyung-jik University of Education, Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies, Kim Chol-ju University of Education, Pyongyang University of Tourism and Chongjin Foreign Language School are examined. In the case of Kim Il-sung University and Kim Hyung-jik University of Education, various studies have analyzed the Korean language curriculum, but since other schools were not known, the study focused on Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies. For the study, interviews were conducted with learners who participated in short-term Korean language programs in North Korea. As a result, it was found that all six schools were operating short-term Korean language programs for 3 weeks between July and August. In addition, Kim Il-sung University and Kim Hyong-jik University of Education conducted classes in the same manner as the ‘Chosun Exchange Scholarship’ program, but in the case of Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies, classes were divided into ‘Language’ and ‘Literature’ classes.
