초록
This study conducted a thorough investigation of aspiration pronunciation errors among Mongolian learners of Korean, aiming to provide essential data for effective pronunciation instruction. The research yielded three key findings. First, it revealed that less proficient learners tend to prioritize other phonetic features like neutralisation and consonant-cluster simplification over aspiration, leading to frequent mispronunciation or omission of the /ㅎ/ sound. This indicates the need for systematic instruction on the application order and interaction of phonetic phenomena. Second, the study showed that error patterns in aspiration pronunciation vary with the targeted aspirated sound. Learners exhibited different levels of improvement depending on the specific sound, suggesting the need for tailored pronunciation teaching materials for each sound. Lastly, the research identified the influence of morphological factors on aspiration pronunciation, with learners acquiring aspiration more easily in verbs than in nouns. This highlights the importance of instructional methods that consider the morphological structures of language, especially in the early stages of learning.
