중국 문화 교재에서 나타난 문화소의 한국어 번역 방법 연구

Research on the Translation Methods of Chinese Political Texts from a Rhetoric Perspective into Korean

국가 간의 교류가 갈수록 빈번하게 진행되는데 번역의 역할은 아주 중요하게 되었다. 번역은 문화간 의사소통의 특수한 방식으로 문화 간의 장벽을 극복하는 데 목적이 있다. 그 중에 문화 번역에서 가장 핵심적인 요인은 바로 ‘문화소’이다. 따라서 본 연구는 중국 문화 교재인 『한국어로 읽는 중국문화』에서 나타난 문화소를 연구 대상으로 삼아 한국어로 어떻게 번역했는지 살펴보고자 했다. 또한 『한국어로 읽는 중국 문화』에서 나타난 문화소를 생태문화소, 물질문화소, 제도문화소, 관습문화소, 관념문화소, 언어문화소로 분류하여 분석한 결과 역자가 문화소를 번역할 때 직역, 의역, 음역, 문헌학적 번역, 번안, 첨가 등 여러 가지 방법을 채택하였다는 것을 알 수 있다. 번역문을 분석하면서 적절하지 않은 표현들을 많이 발견했는데 이에 대해 수정 의견도 함께 제시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 앞으로 많은 중국 문화를 담고 있는 책이 외국어로 번역되어 널리 전파하는 데 도움이 되기 바란다.

The role of translation has become increasingly important as exchanges between countries become more frequent. Translation serves the purpose of overcoming cultural barriers through a specialized form of intercultural communication. Among them, the most critical factor in cultural translation is the ‘cultural element.’ Therefore, this study aims to examine how cultural elements are translated into Korean, focusing on the Chinese culture textbook “Telling China’s culture in Korean” Furthermore, it can be observed that when translating cultural elements in “Telling China’s culture in Korean” the translator employed various methods such as literal translation, liberal translation, transliteration, philological translation, adaptation, addition, etc., after classifying cultural elements into ecological, material, institutional, customary, conceptual, and linguistic cultural elements for analysis. While analyzing the translations, many inappropriate expressions were discovered, and suggestions for corrections were provided. Through this study, it is hoped that many books containing Chinese culture will be translated into foreign languages and widely disseminated in the future.
