고령자의 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 사회경제적 요인 분석

An Analysis of Socioeconomic Factors Affecting Oral Health-related Quality of Life in the Elderly

본 연구는 고령자의 사회경제적 요인들이 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 이론적 검토를 기반으로 고령자의 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 주요 사회경제적 요인들을 설명하고 있다. 그리고 2018년(제7차)과 2020년(제8차) 고령화연구패널조사(KLoSA) 자료를 균형패널로 구축하여 고정효과모형을 적용한 패널회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 시간 경과에 따라 고령자의 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에 취업여부, 가구총소득, 가구순자산, 그리고 민간의료보험가입여부가 통계적으로 유의미한 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 통해 고령자의 구강건강 관련 삶의 질에사회경제적 요인들의 영향력이 크게 작용하고 있음을 살펴보았다. 지금까지의 연구결과를 바탕으로 건강형평성 관점에서의 논의와더불어 고령자의 구강건강 관련 삶의 질을 제고할 수 있는 정책적 시사점을 제시하였고, 후속연구의 필요성을 언급하였다.

This study aims to empirically analyze whether the socioeconomic factors of the elderly have effects on their oral health-relatedquality of life. For this purpose, the study explained major socioeconomic factors that could have effects on the oral health-related qualityof life of the elderly through a theoretical review. The study then conducted a panel regression analysis by organizing the data of 2018(7th)and 2020(8th) Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA) into a balanced panel and applying a fixed effect model. The analysis resultsshow that employment, gross household income, net household assets, and private health insurance purchasing had statistically significantpositive effects on the oral health-related quality of life of the elderly over time. These analysis results demonstrate that socioeconomicfactors have a huge impact on the oral health-related quality of life of the elderly. Based on these findings, the study discussed the perspectiveof health equity, offered policy implications to enhance the oral health-related quality of life of the elderly, and mentioned a need for afollow-up study.
