지역 공간형 콘텐츠로서 상생형 문화거리의 가치와 의미

The value and meaning of a Cultural street of Sangsaeng-hyung as local spatial content: Qualitative research applying the perspective of artists in Sejong City

최근 거리·마을 등 우리의 일상 공간이 다양한 빛깔의 공간형 콘텐츠로 바뀌고 있다. 세종시에서도 2020년 ‘상생형문화거리’라는 문화적 실천을 통해 일상의 공간을 예술로 채우는 작업을 진행하였다. 이 연구는 세종시 예술가의 관점을통해 상생형문화거리가 지역의 공간형콘텐츠로서 가지는 가치와 의미를 고찰하기 위해 진행되었다. 이 연구는 질적연구방법론을 적용한 연구로서, 이 사업에 참여한 예술가들을 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 연구결과 예술가들이 인식하는 상생형 문화거리의 가치와 의미는 미시적·거시적 관점으로 나눌 수 있었다. 미시적관점에서 가지는 가치와 의미는 지역 예술가의 활동 기회 마련과 예술인 네트워크 형성 가능성을 확대하였다는 점이다. 거시적인 관점에서의 가치와 의미는 공실 상가 활성화와 예술의 일상적 향유 가능성 확대를 꾀하였다는 점이다. 이 연구결과를 토대로 이 연구에서는 문화 예술 기반 마련을 위한 거버넌스의 선순환 체계의 구현과 함께 로드맵 구현을 통한효율적인 문화예술 정책의 필요성을 결론으로 제시하였다. 이 같은 연구의 수행은 정책적인 관점에서 시사점을 도출할수 있었으며, 연구 방법에 따른 학문적 시사점을 기대할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 연구 방법상 나타나는 한계점은 후속연구로 남겨두고자 한다.

Recently, our everyday spaces, such as streets and villages, are being transformed into spatial content of various colors. Sejong City also carried out work to fill everyday spaces with art through a cultural practice called ‘Cultural Street of Sangsaeng-hyung’ in 2020. This study was conducted to examine the value and meaning of the Cultural street of Sangsaeng-hyung as regional spatial content through the perspective of Sejong City artists. This study applied qualitative research methodology, and artists who participated in this project were selected as research participants. As a result of the study, the value and meaning of the Cultural street of Sangsaeng -hyung as perceived by artists could be divided into micro and macro perspectives. The value and meaning from a micro perspective is that it provides opportunities for local artists to work and expands the possibility of forming a network of artists. The value and meaning from a macro perspective is that it sought to revitalize vacant commercial areas and expand the possibility of daily enjoyment of art. Based on the results of this study, this study concluded that the need for an efficient culture and arts policy through the implementation of a roadmap along with the implementation of a virtuous cycle system of governance to establish a foundation for culture and arts was presented. The conduct of this research was able to derive implications from a policy perspective, and academic implications could be expected depending on the research method. Lastly, we would like to leave the limitations of the research method for follow-up research.
