This allows employees to make quick decisions, which directly influences response to customers' desires, which is most often expressed at the service encounter where most of the interaction between employees and customers occur. Therefore, empowered employees improve their individual job performances by exerting themselves to become professionals in their respective work fields, and thus ultimately maximize overall performance as an organization. For such reasons, managers in the hotel industry need to introduce empowerment, which is one of the best management practices, for improvement in organizational performance. In addition, it is necessary to understand sufficiently the concept of empowerment, organizational commitment and make a thorough examination of its various elements and employee's individual characteristics. According to the results of the study, managers in the hotel industry should consider in advance employees' individual characteristics when trying to adopt empowerment and considering organizational commitment.
