(1) I was surprised at the fact of prince of Silla, Gyogak, since he lived in exile and entered the Buddhist priesthood, after a long period of asceticism by incarnated to JiJang bodhisattva that the statue of the Buddha which is the same size with human, receives the public's reverence. It is definite that Gyogak is the prince of Silla, however, more circumstantial study is needed about his period of birth and the death (2) Many people have translated tea poem, <Let young monk go down the mountain> by Gyogak, however it is difficult to say that have delivered most of poet monk's meaning in the poem properly. That is because they do not know the hidden story of the young monk in the poem, or understandings of the trend of infusing tea at the times was not enough, or the misreading of some words in the poem. (添甁→漆甁, 好去→好玄, 下淚→不淚). (3) If decipher properly, and through right understandings about the hidden story of the young monk and infusing tea, Gyogak's tea poem <Let young monk go down the mountain> is no longer behind at Li Po(God of poem) and Tu Fu(Sain of poem) in contents. (4) As I have looked out the form of <Let young monk go down the mountain>, can realize that the poem already followed the strict rule of seven words in one phrase. But using the three words (bamboo, gold, under) repetitively can be classified in mistake. Gyogak's poem is not behind at Li Po and Tu Fu in the formal point. (5) To sing of Gyogak's flourishing virture, Li Po and Hong Il monk left compliment poem and Gyogak's students also left compliment phrases of JiJang bodhisattva in ≪九華山誌≫. Even now, I expect that our country progress studies in religious and academics about Gyogak seriously. (6) Unfortunately, two of Gyogak's poem is now introduced. With the efforts of searching more poems and to bring into relief Gyogak as not only as a incarnation of JiJang bodhisattva but also as a poet monk, our cultural part and academical part's effort is urgently needed.
