「YoungSuHap」Mrs. Seo (1753~1823) was born on September 19, 1753 in a family which had been high in official post of the Lee Dynasty. She showed the distinguished talents for specially literature from her early age. At her age of 14, she got married to HongInMo (1755~1812) whose family had also been in high rank for generations and she had 3 sons and 2 daughters who were brought up as brilliant bureaucrats and famous writers under her strict and affectionate home education. While growing up at an academic atmosphere and stable living conditions in her family, she learned to perceive the teachings of sages through reading. Her wills to realize the self-perfection in the ordinary life was well expressed in the composition of poems. Seeing that she was named as the title 「YoungSuHap」by her husband, we can be easily aware that they were a very ideal couple who lived in the homely, democratic and respectful atmosphere at home even when women had not been given name at that time. She has left more than 10 tea-poems out of over 192 works in her life time. Especially, she found out the efficacies, aroma, colours and tastes of tea in her ordinary tea life as well as she also found the importance of the water and the light when boiling the tea. In her poems, the delicate development of aesthetic senses through her long tea life and her characteristic individuality has been well expressed in spite that the theme of poem on tea is so simple. Out of her tea poems, the「YonGu」is a masterpiece which has been composed combinedly phrase by phrase by her whole family while affectionately drinking tea sitting around under the moonlight completely assimilated to the nature. The family members are herself, her husband Hong Inmo, the first son Hong Sukju, the second son Hong Kilju, first daughter Hong Wonju(YouHanDan」and the third son Hong Hyunju. Besides, being influenced by her, her first daughter 「YouHanDang」Hong Wonju and the third daughter-in-law SukSun princess have also left some tea-poems expressing the relationship between mother and daughter-in-law during their tea life together with their mother. The third son Hong Hyunju who had won his mother's special love enjoyed the tea from young and let ChoYui known as a tea expert write the 「DongDaSong」. As written deeply based on the tea-life of「YoungSuHap」 Mrs. Seo, the「DongDaSong」of ChoYui is being praised as「Tea Bible」in these days. 「YoungSuHap」Mrs. Seo who always loved tea in her ordinary life while going with the norm of the tide, as a wise mother and graceful wife and a lyric poetess, remains as a paragon of tea woman even in these days.
