This paper deals with the new directions for the development of tea culture and tea industries in Korea, in view of the lessons from English tea culture and industries in the 18-19th centuries. The five main thrust of the development of English tea culture and industries include: 1) tea is the main part of English meals, 2) tea is indispensible for leisure time, 3) tea industries have also developed hand in hand with tea culture being popular, 4) various tea products and tools contributed to the globalization of tea culture, 5) the related sectors such as china, fashion, food have simultaneously developed. These elements can easily be translated into the directions for the development of Korean tea culture and tea industries: 1) rejuvenating the image of tea in Korea from old, traditional, and stagnant feelings, 2) combining tea drinking with various leisure activities, 3) developing various tea products according to consumers’ tastes and pop cultures, 4) designing cultural contents, brands, and healing tea food based on tea culture and tea story-telling.
