In a broad sense, the culture of tea-enjoying comprises material, systemic, activistic and spiritual cultures, reduced to a narrow sense for systemic, activistic and spiritual cultures, less material culture, to be generally accepted. Tea ceremony is no exception, as it further comprises tea-tasting, tea-drinking etiquette and tea-drinking skills along with the narrower notion of tea ceremony. The broad understandings of culture of tea-enjoying and tea ceremony technically refer to the same. Their narrow alternatives, however, have different semantic coverages to each other and shall be distinguished when referred to. Meanwhile, one may find the value of the culture of tea-enjoying from spiritual, artistic, social and material aspects. The culture of tea-enjoying has a handful of properties such as (religious) asceticism, (emotional) artistry, (social) fellowship and (scientific) actualness.
