the Absent Mountain and the Absent Thinking
the Absent Mountain and the Absent Thinking
the Absent Mountain and the Absent Thinking consists of two photographic works and two calligraphy works. Wang Wei said: “Empty mountains can not see people, but hear the sound of people.” In ancient times, in the way of “daily writing”, the ancients conveyed their thoughts of relatives and their reverie of metaphysics to the empty scenery. Empty mountains do not speak, in the absence of the way to allow people's reverie, therefore, the absent thinking is not empty. In the present, it is difficult for us to experience this kind of imagination in thinking again. I hope to return to the yearning for “absence” in the way of daily writing. I write cursive poems of Zhang Ruoxu and Tao Hongjing, rethinking ancient people's taste of landscape. In the form of technical images, a kind of thinking is opened, and the meaning of “absence” is preserved with the images of the solitary boat and the ancient temple.
