학교폭력 피해 및 목격 경험 청소년이 인식하는 학교폭력 피해에 대한 연구

A study on the damage of school violence perceived by adolescents as victims or witnesses of school violence

이 연구의 목적은 학교폭력 관련 경험이 있는 청소년이 학교폭력 피해에 대해 어떤 인식을 갖고 있는지 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 학교폭력 피해 및 목격 경험이 있는 청소년 10명을 대상으로 심층 면담하였고, 이를 개방코딩-심층코딩-주제발견의 질적 분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 학교폭력에 대한 인식, 피해자가 겪는 어려움, 피해 극복을 위해 필요한 것, 학교폭력 예방 및 해결방안 등의 주제로 분류되었다. 첫째, 학교폭력에 대한 인식에서는 학교 학생들의 인식과 피해자의 인식에 차이가 있었다. 학교에서는 패드립, 전교에 소문이 난 따돌림, 신체적 해를 입히는 것은 폭력이며, 또래와 어울리기 위한 일상적 행동, 선을 넘지 않는 욕설, 무리에서 배제되는 따돌림 정도는 폭력으로 인식되지 않았다. 반면 피해자들은 말로 상처를 주는 것도 폭력으로 인식하였다. 둘째, 피해자가 겪는 어려움으로는 피해자에게 학교폭력은 심리적 후유증과 대인관계 문제가 있는 해결되지 않은 현재 진행형이며, 사람들이 피해자의 상황을 잘 모르는 것 등이 있었다. 셋째, 피해 극복을 위해 필요한 것으로 피해자 스스로의 용기와 노력, 편하게 신고하고 상담받는 것, 부모, 친구, 교사 등 다른 사람의 도움 등이 있었다. 넷째, 해결방안으로 교사의 즉각적·적극적·엄격한 개입이 필요하고, 예방교육의 방식이 바뀌어야 한다고 보고되었다. 연구 결과를 토대로 엄격한 학교폭력 인식 교육, 피해자에게 상담과 치유의 기회 보장, 가해자에 대한 보다 엄격한 개입 등의 필요성을 교육적 시사점으로 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how adolescents with school violence experience have the perception of school violence damage. For this purpose, 10 adolescents with experience in damage and witness of school violence were interviewed in depth and analyzed in a qualitative research method as open coding - deep coding - topic discovering. As a result, the topics have been classified as awareness of school violence damage, difficulties experienced by victims, what victims need to overcome the damage, school violence prevention and solutions. First, there was a difference on perception of school violence between school students and victims. In schools, some behaviors were recognized as violence such as speaking ill of one's family, being rumored throughout the school, or causing physical harm, whereas others were not recognized as violence like daily socializing with peers, abusive language that does not cross the line, or some degree of bullying to be excluded from the group. On the other side, victims also recognized verbal hurt as violence. Secondly, difficulties experienced by victims included that school violence is an unresolved ongoing problem with psychological aftereffect and interpersonal issues, and people's ignorance of the victim's situation well. Third, there were some necessaries to overcome the damage such as victim's own courage and effort, comfortable reporting and counseling, and the help of others such as parents, friends, and teachers. Fourth, solutions were reported that teachers' immediate, active, and strict interventions are needed, and the preventive education method should be changed. Based on the research, some educational implications were presented as the necessity of strict school violence awareness education, guaranteeing victims opportunities for counseling and healing, and stricter intervention against perpetrators.
