Research Trends of ‘Chat GPT’ in Korea and China Analyzed through Text Mining: Focus on the Education Sector

최근의 기술 발전은 교육 분야에 새로운 가능성을 제시하고 있는데, 특히 Chat GPT와 같은 대화형 인공지능은 교육에 혁신적인 변화를 불러올 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이에 본 연구는 2022년 Chat GPT 출시 이후 2024년 3월을 기준으로 한국 논문은 총 268편의 논문 중 교육 관련 논문 63편과 중국은 총 1,166편의 논문 중 교육 관련 논문 199편의 데이터를 연구 대상으로 한국과 중국에서 교육 분야에서의 Chat GPT 활용 동향을 분석하였다. Chat GPT 출시 이후 교육 분야에서도 그 활용 가능성에 대한 논의가 활발하게 이뤄지고 있다. AI 기술이 교육에 미치는 영향에 대한 긍정적인 시각과 함께, 부정적인 시선 및 부작용에 대한 우려도 함께 나타나고 있다. 그러나 기술 발전을 외면 하는 것이 아닌, 적절한 윤리적 책임과 함께 상황과 목적에 맞게 AI 기술을 활용하는 방법을 교육적으로 탐구하는 노력도 함께 이뤄지고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 배 경 속에서 한국과 중국에서의 Chat GPT 기술 활용 현황과 논의 주제를 탐색하고 자 한다. 특히, 양국에서의 연구 동향을 텍스트 마이닝을 통해 분석하여 그 결과를 비교하고, 교육 분야에서의 Chat GPT의 적용 가능성과 잠재적 이점을 논의함으로 써 향후 연구 방향을 모색할 것이다. 이를 통해 양국의 Chat GPT 활용 현황을 보다 깊이 있게 이해하고, 미래 교육 시스템의 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

This study analyzed the trends in the utilization of Chat GPT technology in the education sector in both South Korea and China. Consequently, since the release of Chat GPT, discussions regarding its potential applications in education have been actively underway. Alongside the optimistic perspectives on the impact of AI technology on education, concerns about negative implications and side effects have also emerged. However, rather than disregarding technological advancements, efforts are being made to ethically and responsibly explore the utilization of AI technology in education according to specific contexts and purposes. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to explore the current status and topics of discussion regarding the use of Chat GPT technology in education in both South Korea and China. Specifically, through text mining, the research trends in both countries are analyzed and compared, and the potential applications and benefits of Chat GPT in the education sector are discussed to pave the way for future research directions. Through this endeavor, a deeper understanding of the utilization of Chat GPT technology in both countries’ educational contexts is sought, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the advancement of future education systems.
