The purpose of this study is to assess the adequacy of the contents of the 2022 Revised Primary English National Curriculum. To achieve this purpose, the contents of the 2022 Revised Primary English National Curriculum were analyzed by the criterion of scope and connectedness established in this paper. The findings are as follows: (1) The distinction among categories classified was not transparent in the contents. Especially, skill was not distinguished from communicative function. (2) Compared with the skills, the contents related to the process were not presented in the categories. (3) In the category of value and attitude, the values related to the culture were not presented in the categories. (4) Contents based on key competences such as aesthetic sensitivity competence were not established appropriately. (5) Although the connectedness among the domains of receptive and production skills was achieved, the contents of the domains were not distinguished transparently in the aspect of the connectedness. From the findings, it was suggested that curriculum needs to be developed based on scope and connectedness for English language learners to improve their communicative competence systematically and effectively.
