인공지능(AI) 기술의 급속한 발전과 더불어 디지털 휴먼은 외형적인 측면에서의 완전성뿐만 아니라 지능적인(IQ) 측면에서 인류(人類)와 거의대등한 수준까지 성장할 것을 목표로 삼고 있으며, 사람과 같은 실재(實 在)감이 더욱 높아지고 있다. 서양 미술사의 거장(巨匠)인 라파엘로의 작품 ‘아테네학당’은 1510년부터 1511년 사이에 제작된 프레스코화로, 인류 역사에 기록된 위대한사상가, 수학자, 정치가, 철학자, 과학자 등 총 57명의 인물을 총망라함으로써 고대 그리스 철학과 과학의 황금기를 묘사하고 있다. 한마디로 <아테네학당>은 시공(時空)을 초월해 역사상에 기록된 57명의 현인을 역할별로 재배치시킨 라파엘로가 만든 서양 미술사의 초대작(超大作)이다. 본 논문에서는 아테네학당에 등장한 57명의 등장인물 모두를 Chat GPT 및 전문 AI와 결합한 디지털 휴먼으로 변환 후 XR디스플레이를 통해 이를 표현하는 과정들을 본 논문에서 서술하였다. 종국적으로 이렇게 아테네학당에 등장한 57인의 ‘디지털 휴먼’은 Chat GPT를 적용한 기술과 확장 현실(XR) 기술을 합친 하나의 ‘인공지능 디지털 휴먼 플랫폼’으로 정착할 수 있다.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, digital humans aim to grow to almost equal human beings in terms of intelligence (IQ) as well as perfection in terms of appearance, and the human-like sense of reality will be further enhanced. Raphael's “Athens Institute,” a master of Western art history (巨 匠), is a fresco produced between 1509 and 1510, depicting the golden age of ancient Greek philosophy and science by covering a total of 57 figures, including great thinkers, mathematicians, politicians, philosophers, and scientists recorded in history. In short, “Athens Institute” is a masterpiece created by Raphael, who relocated 57 wise men recorded in history beyond time and space by role. In this paper, the process of converting all 57 characters who appeared at Athens Institute into digital humans combined with Chat GPT and professional AI and expressing them through XR display is described. Eventually, the 57 'digital humans' that appeared at Athens Institute can be settled as an 'artificial intelligence digital human platform' that combines Chat GPT- applied technology and extended reality (XR) technology.
