Richard Powers (1957-) is regarded as one of the most important modern American writers, with his twelfth book, The Overstory, winning the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Literature, and his latest novel, Bewilderment, being shortlisted for the Booker Prize. In these two novels, Powers discusses the relationship between man and nature, pointing out that environmental issues are not only related to the current survival of human beings, but also closely related to the future development of human beings. His ecological concern and humanistic concern for the future development of human beings are deeply conveyed in the books. Therefore, this paper tries to analyze the enlightenment of the life community between man and nature in the novels Bewilderment and The Overstory to modern life from the theory of ecocriticism.
